Why has Atlassian acquired Mindville?

Asset and configuration management capabilities are a cornerstone of IT Service Management, a market where Atlassian continues to see strong momentum and growth. Insight perfectly compliments Atlassian's existing offering in this space and so it makes sense for Mindville to be part of the family so we can worth together on improving the tool.

What does this mean for the future of Insight?

Both Mindville and Atlassian will continue to build on Insight's asset and configuration management capabilities and integrate it tightly with Jira Service Desk. Our immediate focus is to improve the software and build the features we've had on our roadmap.

For example, we know many customers have been asking for specific features to be added into Insight for Jira Cloud. By working together we can accelerate our development and create a top quality product. 

What does this acquisition mean for current users of Insight? 

As of now, there are no changes and you should continue using Insight as you have been. We plan to continue enhancing the CMDB capabilities and strengthen how they integrate with Jira. We will keep you updated as our product offerings evolve.

How does this affect other tools such as Insight Discovery or the Integrations?

There are no changes to these and we will continue to develop these parts of the product line-up as before. Insight Discovery licenses will continue as they have, you can still trial and purchase the software through the Atlassian Marketplace, and the Integrations are still downloadable for free.

My license renewal is due soon, should I still renew?

Yes, absolutely! Renew to continue using Insight for your asset and configuration management projects. Insight is still available on the Atlassian Marketplace just like before.

I have been meaning to try Insight in my organization, can I still get a free trial for Insight?

Yes, Mindville offers a 30-day free trial for each of their offerings, no credit card required. These are still available from the Atlassian Marketplace.
